The Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry has traditionally played an important, even leading role in Eastern Europe. Before and after the fall of the communist regime. The industry in Ukraine consisted of many disparate companies, only a few of which had reached a size of interest to global markets by the 2000s.
In addition, the market in Ukraine and the CIS countries was very complex, and corruption was rampant in the top companies. This deterred many European machinery and equipment manufacturers from working directly here. At that time, Ukraine and the entire CIS were not attractive enough for many manufacturers compared to much more dynamic and profitable markets and were not even on their radar.
Pharmaceutical Industry Review and Bütler & Partner saw an opportunity in these circumstances. Galina Zerova and Peter Bütler seized it almost simultaneously. The pharmaceutical industry needed a modern information tool for global innovation and technological exchange. At the same time, the industry needed access to modern Western technologies.
Pharmaceutical Industry Review became an industry magazine similar to those that had long been known in the West. It was attractively designed, with interesting articles about new processes and products, analytical materials, reports on exhibitions and congresses, educational articles, and local flavor. In 2013, the online edition was launched.
Bütler & Partner began representing, advertising and selling technological equipment from leading European, in particular Swiss, manufacturers. Peter Bütler has worked for a long time as an international marketing and sales director in pharmaceutical companies. The company was founded in 2005 and soon achieved success with various brands, including KINEMATICA (Switzerland) and FREWITT (Switzerland). Suddenly, the machine manufacturers realized that with active and well-trained local representatives, the markets were of greater interest. Accordingly, Bütler & Partner's portfolio and sales territories expanded. With a large network of local partners and later its own offices in major cities, the company successfully served 29 countries with more than thirty representative offices.
However, crises, global development, consolidation and grouping of companies by manufacturers and customers, and finally the pandemic, have constantly changed the markets. Pharmaceutical Industry Review has always reported on the latest developments, and Bütler & Partner has been guided by them. We focused more and more on the CIS countries, and in the spring of 2022, we abandoned important markets. Now we are clearly focused on Ukraine and Central Asia.
With a small, highly specialized team, mostly based in Kyiv, we are able to offer comprehensive solutions for the pharmaceutical industry - from product preparation and process engineering to new product development.
Our partners are highly specialized and successful international manufacturers. This allows us to offer a wide range of products designed for a variety of processes, ranging from PWI water treatment to transportation, as well as for a variety of process steps such as grinding/milling, mixing/homogenization, separation/drying, and packaging solutions.
Taking into account our principles, we can offer both standard equipment and equipment made according to the specific customer requirements. In most cases, we offer pilot and industrial plants, but for some processes we are ready to offer laboratory versions. All systems comply with international standards and regulations, i.e. cGMP, FDA, 3A, ISO/CE, etc.
We are proud and grateful that almost 100% of Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers are our customers.
