On December 11, 2022 SLC InterChem celebrated its 30-th anniversary. Despite the war the company follows its own values – first of all people, education and culture, legitimacy and unity. Our slogan for this year is “We work in order to help others!”
Аlready before the full scale russia invasion to Ukraine InterChem, managed by Anatoliy Reder, General director, has developed stress-scenario for the case of military actions’ escalation and interruptions of electricity and raw materials supply in order to ensure continuous work and manufacturing process stability.
At the beginning of the war we all were facing many challenges, first of all logistic difficulties. However, the company was solving them step by step applying emergency mode. Thus, during the first days of war we managed to unblock the container with significant supply of import raw materials from Odesa sea port. This enabled us to create the stock of raw materials for at least one year of uninterrupted work provided significant increase in demand for medicines. The company focused its production on immediate needs of Ukrainian Armed Forces and population under the state of war conditions. Since February 24 we had to stop manufacturing facility for 2 days but afterwards all production processes were resumed at pre-war level. Provided living conditions and our tasks during the war we use every day, every hour to intensify all manufacturing processes. InterChem’s 900 employees continue working in 24/7 mode and ensure continuous medicines manufacturing. In general during the war we increased production by 7% in comparison with 2021. We re-established logistic supply chains to all possible regions of Ukraine taking into account active military operations. Company’s portfolio includes large amount of medicines which are in high demand – anesthetics, sedatives, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral drugs. InterChem produces majority of active pharmaceutical ingredients for those medicines and this is additional safety measure to prevent the shortage of necessary drugs.
We shall pay respect to many people who helped InterChem to resolve problems, including National police units, volunteers, our own employees. They spend all their time and continue working under significant risk. Some of our employees joined the Armed Forces where they implement rehabilitation projects for militaries and civil relocated population.
InterChem provides humanitarian aid to Armed Forces, volunteers and relocated civil population since 2014. However, amount of such support significantly increased since February 2022. During this time we provided Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, National police, numerous charity foundations and volunteers with medicines for the total amount of UAH 45 M free of charge. We also handed over 10 transportation units for the needs of our defenders.
For some InterChem’s medicines the amount of sales is less than the amount of provided humanitarian aid.
Manufacturing of innovation products such as our main brands – Amixin ІС, Gidazepam ІС, Levana ІС – is a priority vector for our pharmaceutical company’s development. Despite the war InterChem did not stop research projects, in particular clinical and pre-clinical research.
We continue close co-operation with international partners in the field of scientific-research work. Besides, InterChem continue to export its medicines and do not change its strategic plans as to the entry to EU markets after the Victory. Regarding the plans for the future – first of all we target at implementation of all ideas and projects even if they seem absolutely impossible now.
Thus InterChem work more and more and without compromising its values move ahead into
the peaceful future of independent strong European Ukraine.
